Today, I discovered Nick Drake (19 June 1948 – 25 November 1974), one of the most interesting musicians to have ever lived in the past century.
During the peak of his music career, his music went un-noticed. It is only recently (in the 80s) that people started hearing the beauty behind his somber tunes. He has released 3 album (Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter and Pink Moon) during his lifetime. No known video of Nick Drake exists.

I heard of the name Nick Drake through a passing remark by Ray LaMontagne during an interview. Ray was comparing his music with that of Nick Drake.
A quick search on YouTube rendered some amazing music. I haven't listened to all his songs, yet. Here's my favorite, so far.
When I was younger, younger than before
I never saw the truth hanging from the door
And now I'm older see it face to face
And now I'm older gotta get up clean the place.
And I was green, greener than the hill
Where the flowers grew and the sun shone still
Now I'm darker than the deepest sea
Just hand me down, give me a place to be.
And I was strong, strong in the sun
I thought I'd see when day is done
Now I'm weaker than the palest blue
Oh, so weak in this need for you.
