Samsung Galaxy S7: Specs, price & availability in the Philippines
This post will be constantly updated as much as Samsung releases new information about the device.
Rethink what a phone can do.
Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The two smartphones are set for released in March 11, 2016. Whether this will be the same release date in the Philippines is still a big question mark.
2015 has not been good to Samsung’s smartphone division; sales are dropping. The company is getting squeezed out on two fronts -- Apple dominates the high-end market and Chinese companies (Huawei & Xiaomi) are gaining grounds on the cheaper end.
As expected of Samsung, the S7 comes with the latest hardware.
- OS: Android 6.0
- Processor: Exynos 8890 (WW) / Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (US)
- GPU: Mali-T880 MP12 (WW) / Adreno 530 (US)
- RAM: 4GB
- Storage: Option between 32- and 64-GB, with micro-SD slot of up to 200GB
- Display: 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED
- Camera: 12MP, with 4K video recording and 5MP front camera
- Battery: 3000 mAH
This spec sure looks amazing. Will this encourage smartphone users to upgrade? That's a hard question to answer. What do you think?
The price will, most likely, be within the same range as the S6. The base model will cost ~ PHP 35,000, while the 64GB variant will be sold for around PHP 41,000.
With the popularity of Samsung phones here in the Philippines, the Galaxy 7’s local release shouldn’t take that long, maybe a week or two after the official US launch.
